Context: In this unit students broadened their knowledge about human brain and its functions through reading a non-fiction text. They utilized reading strategies dealing with scientific language and vocabulary. In the reception phase of the unit, students developed skills in reading an informational text and became familiar with its textual and linguistic characteristics. In the production phase, they produced an argumentative writing when they had to support their stance with textual evidence about which part of the brain they would have given away and why.
